Tango para Todos Parkinson: A Method for People with Parkinson’s
Tango para Todos (TapaTo) is an initiative that emphasizes the inclusive and social nature of Argentine tango. TapaTo Parkinson (TapaToP)brings the transformative power of Argentine tango to people with Parkinson’s. Rooted in the rich culture of tango, this method is designed to enhance movement, connection, and expression, fostering a sense of confidence and joy in every participant.
About the Method
Tango is more than just a dance—it is a conversation of movement, trust, and presence. In our classes, we explore the roles of leader and follower, learning how to move together with awareness and musicality. Through tango, participants develop not only new dance skills but also a deeper connection with their partners and the group as a whole.
Each session is a space for discovery, where dance becomes a tool for self-expression, balance, and connection. The TapaToP method integrates elements of dance therapy, music therapy, and tango technique to create a holistic experience tailored to people with Parkinson’s.
What to Expect
We offer tango courses for people with Parkinson. In our lessons participants experience:
- Learning the fundamentals of tango in a safe and supportive environment
- Partner-based movement to develop trust and connection
- The joy of improvisation, allowing for self-expression and creativity
- A warm and inclusive community where everyone can shine
No prior dance experience is needed, and participants can join with a partner (spouse, friend, or family member). Comfortable clothing and well-fitting shoes are recommended.
